Very good printer with small touchscreen
This line of HP printers has been discontinued, so there are not a lot of reliable places to purchase them. The 8710 is great for a small/medium size business or home office. The one downside is that the touchscreen is on the small side.

Don't buy this printer!
I do not like this printer. To scan you have to find the program, pull it up, and fiddle around to get it to scan. Why not just the old "lay paper on glass plate and scan" set up? I am so frustrated. I threw out the box (huge mistake) so I am going to try to sell the printer so I can buy another one. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.

So far so good. I did not receive a CD as indicated in the very minimal instructions so I was a bit hindered. My previous printer was also HP and this is quite a step up. I don't have it all set up and will need some help from someone more savvy than I. I did go online to the help feature which never did answer my questions. What should have only taken a short time ended up being a long and frustrating experience. It prints well though quite noisySo far so good. The problem was not specifically the printer, it was with the advertised capability to be set up without the internet. It was to have a CDR to use for setup. I know that's old style but it what I needed for a system that does not use the internet (security purposes). It was also supposed to run on XP with SP-3. None of that was true. No CDR. Instructions inside the box said you had to use the internet. I contacted HP to see it they could supply the CDR as there must have been one in earlier editions. No CDR. Further, the HP rep said that particular unit would not work on XP with any upgrades. Not worth returning so it sits in a room waiting for somebody to need a printer that can connect to the internet.
